Simply Meant To Be

On July 2nd, 2012, the love of my life asked me to marry him after dating for two years. We were attending an anime and comic convention native to South Florida, Supercon, (the very same one we had first met at in 2009), and were cosplaying as Princess Ariel and Prince Eric from Disney's The Little Mermaid. During the costume contest, we were called up onstage to receive a 'special award', and there, in front of almost 2,000 people, he asked me to be his wife. I couldn't have been happier. The decision to marry on Halloween was unanimous, because it is our favorite holiday and we both share a love of costumes and dressing up. We’ve chosen to go with a Nightmare before Christmas theme for our wedding, mostly because I’ve been in love with the 1993 Tim Burton movie ever since I was a child and it holds a very special place in my heart. This blog will be dedicated to ideas, photos, and everything else that will be used as inspiration for what will no doubt be the biggest day of our lives. Progress photos will also be included, because there is a little more than a year’s time left for us to wait. It is a journey I’m beyond excited to take, and I couldn’t think of anyone better to have by my side.
